TROUBLESHOOTING

The installation of HVI equipment for communication circuits (POTS, data, etc.) requires specific knowledge regarding how the equipment is to be installed properly and safely.  Usually, the proper installation methods for HVI equipment is not intuitively obvious to the average installer and as a result, errors are frequently made which can affect the safety and functionality of the installation.  BE personnel are trained to spot these errors and can help to bring the installation up to standard.

Often, when there is electrical damage to electronic equipment, it is necessary to perform a root cause analysis of why the damage happened.  Doing so can provide clues as to not only why it happened, but also how to prevent future occurrences of similar failures.

The availability of an OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) gives us the ability to troubleshoot fiber optic cables and identify the locations of compromised fibers.
